*"Pill-resistant" refers to a fabric's ability to resist the formation of small, fuzzy balls on its surface. These balls, known as "pills," form as a result of wearing and washing, when groups of short or broken fibers on the surface of the fabric become tangled together in a tiny knot or ball.
